Established by a wealthy merchant family in 1784, this miso brewery produces an all-natural miso paste in accordance with traditional brewing methods. Without the use of additives or preservatives, the miso is aged in wooden barrels for 1-2 years. The brewery offers a wide selection of different types and flavors of miso. Visitors can not only purchase miso but also sample as many as they like. In addition, Kokuhei offers a miso-making workshop for 3,500 Yen per person.
