Located in the samurai district of Nagamachi, this traditional ceramics shop specializes in Kutani ware (Japanese porcelain from Ishikawa Prefecture). Kutani porcelain has over 300 years of history. Works from the 17th century are known as Ko-Kutani (Old Kutani), while works from the 19th century onwards are referred to as Kutani. Kutani Kubaraki has items from the Edo Period as well as contemporary works. Visitors can choose from a variety of hand-painted designs and drawings, such as floral designs, landscapes and patterns. Visitors can also have a light lunch or afternoon tea with traditional Japanese sweets in the attached restaurant area that overlooks a Japanese garden.
