Opened in 2003, this multi-function media art and technology space holds exhibitions, public workshops, performances and film screenings. Commonly referred to as “YCAM”, facilities at the Yamaguchi Center for Arts and Media include exhibition spaces, a research lab, a library, cinema, classrooms and a restaurant. Exhibitions and performances are given by Japanese and international artists. Ticket and admission prices vary according to what is scheduled. YCAM also runs a child-minding center for parents and guardians wanting to visit or use YCAM facilities. Operating between 13:00 to 17:00, the YCAM kids’ space costs ¥150/30 minutes and services are capped for two hours.
